While the bankruptcy of Saab profits has left the 9-3 in limbo, a few motorsports teams are keeping the spirit alive by using the Saab 9-3 TTA race car.
First reported a few months ago, the 9-3 TTA will compete in the Swedish Racing Elite League. Here is video of the first test. The 9-3 was driven by the TTA at Ales, in southern France. Fabrien Thuner, a Swiss driver, took the wheel.
This Saab is the first TTA complete car, with final technical specifications and a carbon fiber body. It feels great to be on the track. Greger Landen (Technical Director of TTA) said that we had a very successful and thorough test day in France. This will soon be modified to the final Swedish tests ahead of the premiere.
The car is almost finished, although there are still aerodynamic improvements to be made. Flash Engineering and Team Tido will receive four cars (including the test vehicle) in total.
TTA testing in Sweden will continue, with the second race at Karlskoga taking place on the 12th of Mai.
