Save the Date: The VW T-Cross Will Debut on October 25

Next year, the Polo on stilts will be available for purchase

Volkswagen is finishing another crossover, the TCross. The Polo SUV will be one the most customizable models available by the company. We will see it in all its glory at the Sao Paulo International Motor Show, which will take place in November. The official debut of the vehicle will be made two weeks earlier, on October 25th.

The T-Cross is based on VW’s MQB A0 platform. It will be slightly longer than the Polo. The latest Polo measures 4.053 meters (159.6 ins) long. The crossover will measure 147mm (5.74 ins) longer. The increased dimensions will allow passengers to have more leg room, and the boot could hold up to 69 liters more depending on where the rear seats are placed.

The T-Cross can be equipped with several engines depending on its market. European customers will likely get a 1.0- or 1.5-liter three cylinder turbo gas engine, as well as a 1.6 liter TDI diesel. A 1.4-liter TSI engine is expected to power Brazil’s core motor. However, some Latin American markets will be able to purchase a naturally-aspirated 1.6-liter engine. The front wheels will receive the power.

Motor1.com Brazil colleagues had the opportunity to test drive a prototype T-Cross. They describe the driving experience as being very similar to the Polo but with a more comfortable driving position. The interior of the crossover is filled with all the cool features, including the digital instrument cluster. It already feels very familiar. The model will be available in Brazil with a special fascia.

The T-Cross will go on sale in the first week of 2019 with a selection of 12 exterior colors, including a few two-tone options.
