Scion will introduce today at the New York Auto Show its limited-run FR–S Release Series 1.0.
We saw the Scion FR-S Monogram Series back in January at NAIAS. Now, for NYIAS, they have created a Release Series that includes a variety of upgrades from Toyota Racing Development and a Yuzu exterior painting scheme. The production limit will be 1,500 units. All cars will sport a custom aerodynamic body kit that includes a rear spoiler, side garnish and a fender garnish.
TRD’s quad exhaust setup, lowering springs and lowering springs are also included in the package. On the inside you’ll find a Smart Key with Push Button start. TRD added a new steering wheel, shift knob and black seats with T pattern. A unique logo cargo mat was also installed. The FR-S Release Series 1.0 is distinguished by its HID headlamps equipped with LED DRLs and a dual zone automatic AC system.
Each car will have a unique badge (1 out of 1,500) embedded on the brushed-aluminum shifter surround plate. Customers can choose between a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 6-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters or Dynamic Rev Management technology.
The Scion FR–S Release Series 1.0 will be delivered starting in August for a price less than 30,000 US Dollars, excluding 755 USD destination & processing fees.
