Porsche’s most popular 911 is a performance-oriented machine.
The Porsche 911 has been an icon for many decades. The 911 is a powerful sports car that offers varying levels of performance. The 911 TurboS is at the top of this lineup. It straddles the line between a supercar and a sports car. The AutoTopNL YouTube channel’s latest video shows the bright yellow 911 eagerly cruising on the German Autobahn at 206 mph (332 km/h).
The Turbo S’s flat-six 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged engine is behind the driver. The Turbo S’s power – and it is a lot – flows through an eight-speed PDK transmission to all four wheels. It produces 640 horsepower (477 Kilowatts) as well as 590 pound-feet (890 Newton-meters). Porsche claims that the top-tier 911 can reach 60 mph (96 km/h) in just 2.6 seconds. A tune and some upgraded parts could get it below the 2.0-second mark.
In the video, the Turbo S breaks the 200-mph mark twice (321 kph). The Porsche reached 205 mph (330 km/h) the first time. The car reached 206 mph (332 km/h) the second time. Because there is no traffic, it is possible for the driver reach high speeds with ease thanks to the kindness of Autobahn drivers and laws encouraging good road manners. As the car bounces across the bumpy road, the video shows how steady it is.
Porsche’s high-performance 911 doesn’t come cheap at a starting price of over $200,000. The 911 Turbo S is much more than a powerful engine stuffed between the front fenders. It has been thoroughly reworked and updated to improve performance and handling. The car can hit 206 mph in a matter of seconds without breaking a sweat.
