See How The 2020 Corvette C8 Performs in the Snow

Although he advises caution, this Corvette owner is still impressed.

The 2020 Chevrolet Corvette C8 has not been on sale for over a month and at least one instance has seen snow. One new owner of the 2020 Chevrolet Corvette C8 took advantage of the snowy conditions to test his mid-engined sports car. We also captured it on video for YouTube.

The temperatures hovered just above freezing. These conditions are not ideal for Michelin Pilot Sport 4S summer tires, which come with the Corvette Z51 handling pack. Morgan Crosbie, the owner, took his new vehicle to a closed access road in order to ensure safety. Crosbie reported that the ABS activated at 50 km/h (32 MPH) but stopped straight and true.

He was able to drive it on the hills of his neighborhood’s suburban roads without any problems. This is due to the Corvette C8 rear-biased weight distribution (46 to 60 front to back). These tires get a little more traction because the engine is close to the rear axle.

Crosbie recently shared via YouTube the amount of water that collects underneath the Corvette’s engine covers in car washes or rainstorms. He also mentioned that he was able to ride on winter-appropriate rubber in the C8 in January. Bridgestone Blizzaks made the ‘Vette perform even better in snow. This is not surprising. Proper rubber is essential for a sports car that can be enjoyed all year.

The Corvette’s advanced construction, which includes aluminum suspension components and carbon fiber body panels, makes it a winter-friendly vehicle. These materials are far more resistant to salt and slush than steel, even though scratches expose the medium beneath.

Crosbie’s YouTube channel has a lot to offer. He’s a Corvette fan, but is not immune to the C8’s quirks and limitations. He also drives the American supercar daily, testing its luggage capacity, comfort, as well as tech personalization.
