Shmee gives an in-depth review of Spyker C8 Laviolette

The brand’s first coupe.

Spyker has run out of money again. Two Russian businessmen failed to provide the promised investment to the Dutch exotic car manufacturer. Spyker CEO Victor Muller filed for bankruptcy, but he believes there is still hope that the automaker can survive.

Although the hopes and dreams for new Spyker models are frozen, the company has already produced some amazing machines that we can appreciate. Shmee’s latest video shows the C8 Laviolette. The C8 Spyder is also included in the coupe.
Shmee gives an in-depth review of Spyker C8 LavioletteThe C8 Laviolette, a hardtop car in the brand’s history, is the original. The interior features an aircraft-inspired design. We love the exposed linkage in the cabin and the six-speed gearbox.
The drivetrain is the same as the C8 Spyder. It uses a 4.2-liter naturally-aspirated, V8 engine that was sourced from the first-generation Audi R8. It produces 400 horsepower (298kilowatts) as well as 354 pound-feet (354 Newton-meters), of torque to the rear wheels. It can accelerate from 0-60 miles per an hour (0-96 km/h) in 4.5 seconds, and reach a maximum speed of 186 mph (30 kph).

Shmee meets Barry Skolnick, who bought two Spyker models to add to his collection. C8 Laviolettes, which are rare to find, were on sale about a year ago. Shmee said that he didn’t expect the Spykers to be as fun to drive as they were. We are confident in him.
