Singer Vehicle Design, Los Angeles, recreates the Porsche 911 using modern materials and technology.
This is the Singer 911 from Singer Vehicle Design 2011. It does look a bit older than that, don’t you think? Singer set out to restore/recreate classic 911s based on pre-1994 911 models. These photos of this 911 era 911 from the late 70s/early 1980s tell a lot about the story. The rest of the news is that the car is intended for classic vehicle lovers who don’t care about the technology or the poor mileage. Singer purchases pre-1994 911s, and brings them up to date for the 21st century.
Singer uses the words “restoration” to describe the process, but Singer is not authentic. Singer also uses the words “reimagined” and “reborn”, as Singer’s Los Angeles-based company uses modern gadgets such as carbon fiber body panels, which recreate the 911. The engine is powered by an updated powertrain that produces a 3.8-liter and more than 400 horsepower. This 911 also includes Brembo brakes as well as a Bilstein coilover kit to improve the suspension. Inside, there are more modern materials. It is a variation on the 911 interior with leather seats.
