Skoda Octavia Sportline Introduces Budget RS with Vast Engine Selection

Finally, the 2.0 TSI engine is available on a non-RS version.

In 2015, the flagship Superb Skoda was the first to get the Sportline treatment. This was before the Enyiaq and Karoq iV SUVs received the visual upgrades. Now it’s Octavia’s turn, with a Sportline trim level that brings RS-like cosmetic tweaks and performance without the extra performance reserved for high-performance models.

The Sportline is distinguished from other trim levels by its black design elements. There’s also a subtle rear spoiler that can be used for the liftback model. The Octavia Sportline is also available as a wagon. It rides on 17-inch wheels with a polished, black appearance, but you can also upgrade to an 18-inch set that’s exclusive to this model. The outside changes are completed by Sportline badges.

The interior begins as an Octavia in Style trim, before being upgraded to piano black decorative strips and sports seats with built-in headrests. The Sportline logo is engraved on the steering wheel, while the Octavia lettering appears on the front sills. Skoda will offer the new version as standard. It slots between the Style model and RS. The rearview mirror has a USB-C port to allow the driver to attach a dashcam.

The Sportline comes with a variety of gasoline, diesel and natural gas powertrains. It can be ordered with either front- or all-wheel drive, as well as a 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed dual-clutch auto transmission.

Skoda Octavia Sportline Introduces Budget RS with Vast Engine Selection

Skoda’s new 2.0 TSI engine, which produces 190 horsepower (140 kilowatts), is the big news in engines. Although it was made available at the end of the previous-gen Octavia’s life cycle, it is now that the fourth-generation model has the gasoline engine. Only available in combination with AWD or DSG. The 2.0 TSI variant, although not mentioned in the press release has an independent rear suspension.

The Octavia Sportline can also be ordered with DCC Dynamic Chassis Control. This allows you to adjust the dampers from sporty to comfortable at a minimal additional cost. You will need to pay an additional fee for the central airbag between your front seats, as well as Collision Avoidance Assist and Turn Assist and Crew Protect Assist (with rollover function).

The only member of the Octavia Octavia family that is currently missing is the Laurin & Klement, named after Skoda’s founding fathers. It has been available in every generation of the modern Octavia. We know it’s coming to India, so it’s only a matter time.
