Sofia: 2020 Nissan Juke Makes Surprise Debut

Next month, Euro sales begin

Although the second generation Nissan Juke had its official online debut early September, the quirky crossover wasn’t in Frankfurt until a few weeks later. Nissan decided instead to make the vehicle public at the 2019 Sofia Motor Show. This is the last European auto show on the International Organization of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers (OICA) 2019 calendar. The new Juke was being shot right before it goes on sale in the Old Continent.

This fully-equipped example is displayed in Sofia. It features leather and Alcantara inside, Bose premium sound system, heated seats, decorative inserts for the bumpers and 19-inch alloy wheels in two-tone. The new 1.0-liter turbocharged three-cylinder gasoline engine from the company is under the hood. It produces 117 horsepower (87kilowatts), and is mated with a six speed manual gearbox. A seven-speed dual-clutch automated transmission will be available in most markets.

The exterior design for the new Juke is more pleasing to the eye, as you can see in the attached photos. The crossover’s larger dimensions and proportions make it more spacious. It has 2.3 inches (5.8 cm) more legroom than the previous model, and 0.5 inches (1 cm) more headroom. You’ll find 15 cubic feet (422 Liters) of cargo space behind the passengers, which is 20% more than the model’s predecessor.

The new Juke will go on sale in late February with prices starting at PS17.395 for the base Visia trim. This is roughly equivalent to $21,885 at current rates. Premiere Edition, the top-of-the-line edition, will cost you at least PS23.995 ($30.147). Delivery is expected to start towards the end or early 2020. An performance Nismo version may be launched later in the model’s lifetime.
