Someone Donates A Nissan GT-R To Police In Japan

This isn’t a good day for criminals.

This week seems to be for special police cars around the globe. The week began with an ex-mafia Ferrari 458 Spider being introduced in Milan, Italy. Ford then unveiled a new Explorer-based Police Interceptor Utility Hybrid the next day for the U.S. In Japan, the Nissan GT-R was inaugurated. It was a great day for the police around the world, but it would have been even better if I could say the exact same for those criminals these cars would pursue.

A Japanese resident donated the 565-horsepower sports coupe to the Tochigi Prefecture police force for use as a police vehicle. The chief of police was open to the donation and even organized a ceremony for this one-of-a kind police vehicle.

The GT-R has red blinking lights at the top and LED strobes at the bumper to make it stand out as a police car. This is exactly what normal police cars would look like. To make it look similar to the rest of Toshigi’s patrol cars, it is also painted in black-and-white livery. It’s true, Godzilla disguised in a police car will not make heads. We must say that this cruiser can travel from 0-60 mph in just 2.7 seconds. Good luck to anyone who might be speeding on that side of Japan.

This news isn’t surprising to us, since there’s a Middle East country that has a knack for adding supercars to their police force. Dubai is the country that has added these supercars to their police squad – Ferrari LaFerrari and Bugatti Veyron.

This video shows the entire lineup as it was presented to the public a few years ago.
