South Korea's Idea of a BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo: Kia K3 GTDCT and turbo 1.6-liter under the hood

Kia has been on a roll after yesterday’s launches of two new versions of the Ceed: the sporty Ceed GT, and the fashionable ProCeed shooting brake. The momentum is being used to introduce a new compact car. It’s currently only available for the brand’s home markets.

The K3 GT is a liftback that features design cues that are inspired by the shooting brake. The K3 is the name of the compact car that the automaker uses in certain markets, including South Korea. It might be called the Shuma if you are in China. However, it may be known by Colombians or Singaporeans as Cerato Forte and Forte K3.

The new K3 GT offers “optimized driving performance” with “sharp visually elements”. It will be available, beginning next month in four- and 5-door body styles. The GT is distinguished by a dark chrome radiator grille, a contrast red GT logo, and black side mirror covers. A new aggressive diffuser and additional fixed spoiler are located at the back.

Kia says that the K3 GT is built on the new K3 with a dynamic design. This enhances customer satisfaction and adds dynamic performance.

The engine is similar to the Ceed GT’s 1.6-liter turbocharged unit. It will produce a peak power output of 204 horsepower (152 megawatts) and a maximum torque output of 195 pound feet (265 Newton-meters). The engine is mated to a seven speed dual-clutch transmission. Only the front wheels receive power.

Kia sold over 24,000 units in South Korea’s latest generation K3 by August.
