Spada Codatronca TS. It’s the beginning of an Italian love story. It was a nice start; V8, 630bhp, lightweight. Whoa!
Spada Codatronca is the next exclusive manufacturer of supercars in Italy. Spada Vetture Sport is ready for the huge challenge that many might consider impossible. Codatronca TS is the first instance of such desires. Others will follow, most likely before the year ends. They are currently testing the TSS version, which is the big brother to the clan and will be launched this year. We can now get to know more about this Italian stallion.
For starters, the car weighs in at a tempting 1.36 tonnes. This bodes well for the company’s performance philosophies of lightweight, aerodynamics, and driving pleasure. The Batmobile-style hunch, which allows for greater airflow at all times, is evidence of aerodynamics. Codatronca is rear-wheel driven on 19 inch black rubber and an engine that weighs in at 7 litres spread over 8 cylinders. It is not force-feeding. The engine takes in air by the gallon, and sends fuel under the hood to create a staggering 630 bhp at 6500 RPM. 668 Nm is the torque. Codatronca can move forward through a 6-speed close ratio ‘box. It can go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds. Spada claims it is capable of achieving 340km/h, but they wanted it to be as enjoyable as possible and not as powerful. A small conversion kit can be used to run the car on E85 with slightly more power and torque.
The chassis is made from aluminum and includes a roll cage. Carbon fibre is used for the bodywork, which includes a roll cage and a suspension system that can be adjusted to your liking. A complete information system that measures driver’s telemetry and allows you to run faster laps on track days is also included. This will allow you to improve your driving skills every time you drive.
