Sparrow Vision renderings and Honda Prelude: Honda Prelude Supra Fighters

The one is a stylish coupe and the other is a sporty sports car.

The Toyota Supra isn’t up against other Japanese automakers. Although the Nissan 370Z is within the range, its decade-old platform (332-horsepower/248-watt) and V6 engine of 332 horsepower (248-kilowatts) aren’t up-to-snuff against the Toyota’s BMW-powered model. There’s nothing remotely comparable to other brands in this region. However, these renderings by Georgi Bozhkov from Behance.net show a future where Honda takes the lead.

These renderings show not just one but two Honda-badged contenders, the Prelude or the Sparrow. They are both very similar in shape. However, the Sparrow has a more smooth, rounded coupe design than the Prelude. This is fitting, since the Prelude was always edgy in some way. This Prelude is distinguished by a more refined body kit, which even features a Ferrari FXX-themed spoiler at the rear.
The Prelude is the sporty, hard-racing version of the Prelude, while the Sparrow is a sleek, sporty coupe. The Sparrow’s overall design is reminiscent of the Supra. Bozhkov explains in a Behance.net post the Toyota origins for this design project, which began in 2013. Along with the Nissan GT-R, the FT1 Concept – which was essentially a Supra precursor – served as inspiration. We can see some GT-R influence here.

These designs date back from 2013, and Bozhkov has refined them over time to make what you see today. A Mercedes-AMG SLR Concept from him was featured recently. The Honda offerings are equally impressive. You may recall that we said Bozhkov wasn’t an automotive designer. Bozhkov is an enthusiast with a keen ear and significant talent. We would love to see a Prelude reborn with designs similar to those shown here.
