The next-gen Land Rover Freelander mule was captured on camera again, just before an alleged launch in late 2014.
Land Rover is expected to position the new crossover within the Discovery lineup. This is because the British marque plans to adopt a strategy that has three brands: Defender, Discovery, Range Rover. The new model will likely ride on Evoque’s LR-MS architecture, but it will be larger due to the longer wheelbase.
Land Rover will be able to offer the crossover with seven seats in addition to the five-seat version. Although there are rumors of a smaller version, it has not been confirmed. It will be powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine producing approximately 240 horsepower (179 kW).
