The prototype’s front end design is clearly Chevy. It bears strong resemblances to the Chevy Tahoe and Suburban SUVs. The Chevy bowtie shape is clearly visible in the tape that runs across the grille emblem.
Chevy’s full-size sedan with front wheel drive, the Impala, received a major makeover for the 2006 model year. Our spy photographer captured a brand-new Chevy FWD sedan, which was being tested in high temperatures in the US Southwest. This is the next generation Chevy Impala.
The prototype’s front end design is clearly Chevy. It bears strong resemblances to the Chevy Tahoe and Suburban SUVs. The Chevy bowtie shape is clearly visible in the tape that runs across the grille emblem. This is clearly a Chevy. The car is front-wheel drive, as you can see from a quick look under it. The prototype is also shown next to the Chevy Impala, which shows it is wider and longer. This much is certain.
Some aspects of the prototype raise questions. The Buick Lucerne’s shape and the rear end of the car have strong resemblances. Maybe this Chevy will have some similarities to the Lucerne’s design? The European-style turn signal lamps are also visible on the front fenders. They are located behind and above the front wheels. The US-sized cutout on the rear license plate means that this car cannot be considered European. The car also has Hankook Optima tires. These tires are used in Korean cars, but not Chevys. The car’s headlights and taillights are not useful in identifying it, as they are just parts that were attached to the prototype and are not production items. What is it exactly? It’s likely that it is the next Impala. However, it’s impossible for anyone to be certain.
