The crossover is still wearing a tight-fitting camouflage wrap.
Audi will unveil its all-electric Q6 E-Tron crossover before the end of this year. Audi must complete the development process before the crossover can be presented on the market. A new set of spy shots shows that this is in progress.
New photos show the crossover with a camouflage wrap but Audi has begun to peel it off, revealing more of its design. Although we can’t see any sheetmetal as in the spy photos, we can clearly see the crossover’s split-headlight design and closed-off grille. Audi continues to conceal the rear, but it should have a full-width Taillight. The model should also be available in a Sportback version.
The interior of the crossover is one thing that photos show. The photos don’t show much of the interior. Audi’s new Etron GT and HTML4 E-Tron infotainment screens are now available in the Audi Q6 spy shots. However, these spy photos show the crossover with a screen sticking out of the dashboard. It looks strange with thick bezels, which could indicate that the screen is not part of the crossover’s production interior. The steering wheel looks like it has a digital instrument cluster.
The new all-electric Audi could produce 600 horsepower (or 447 kilowatts) when it arrives in its high performance RS trim. This trim will have all-wheel drive and a dual motor setup. You don’t have to worry if you need less power. The new crossover will be available with a range of single- or dual-motor configurations, with different outputs and ranges. The range option is available for models that are more powerful.
It will be placed above the Q4 E-Tron in Audi’s lineup, while taking up space below the E-Tron which is undergoing a mid-cycle refresh . This could lead to Audi changing its name to Q8 E-Tron. Audi already confirmed that the E-Tron will be replaced by a new name, but the company may change this before then.
The RS trim will be the most popular, but it is unlikely to arrive soon. Audi will likely launch the Q6 E-Tron regular trim first, potentially breaking coverage before the end the year. The high-performance RS variant is expected to debut in 2023.
