Autocar has spilled all the beans about the Subaru Cosworth Impreza STi CS400. Have a closer look.
After a string of teasers details and photos have been released for the Cosworth ImprezaSTi CS400. The car, named after Subaru and Cosworth, is the result of a collaboration. It is based upon the Subaru STi, which produces 304 horsepower (227 kW/ 309 PS) in its standard form. Cosworth has made sure that this figure doesn’t stay the same
The styling changes include a new front bumper and mesh grille. Foglights have been replaced with foglights. The wheels are made of new alloys, 18 inches in diameter. You can choose from silver, dark gray or red exterior paint. Recaro front seats are new, with a piano black centre console, privacy glass and new Recaro privacy glasses.
The maximum power output of the turbo 2.5-litre unit has been raised to 395 Bhp (295kW / 400 PS), while torque is increased to 540Nm (398 Lb-ft). The 0-60mph time is now 3.7 seconds, while the top speed is limited to 250 km/h (155mph).
New pistons, connecting rods and a redesigned header gasket are just a few of the changes. A new turbo has a new compressor design, wastegate actuator, and new turbo. To maximize the performance of the new hardware the ECU was also tweaked.
The suspension has been lowered 10mm, while the front brakes with AP Racing discs measure 355mm. The track is 12mm wider.
Only 75 Cosworth Impreza CS400 units are made exclusively for the UK market. Prices start at PS49,995 (US$71,000./ EUR58,000.00).
