Subaru Impreza WRX STI spec B launched in Japan
Today marks the official launch of the Subaru Impreza WRX STi specC.

Subaru officially introduces the Subaru Impreza WRX STI spec B.

The improvements include an unspecified weight loss, previously thought to be around 70kg. Subaru attributes the lower weight to the smaller battery, the aluminum engine hood and laminated glass on the front and side windows. Standard are 18-inch lightweight alloys, but 17-inch options are also available. Bridgestone Potenza RE070 tires are used to improve cornering and grip. The wheels feature seven double spokes. Subaru provides a flat tire repair kit instead of a spare tire.

The spec C features a new tuned Engine Control Unit, which is one of the performance enhancements. A redesigned turbocharger is also featured in the car, which uses new ball bearings and axle bearings. The car retains its 305 horsepower, but the torque is increased to 422 Nm. The “inter-cooler spray” is said to improve engine stability. To improve cornering traction, the rear Limited Slip Differential was changed to a mechanical unit. Subaru also optimized the suspension and springs as well as the fuel pump. As an option, you can choose from leather and Alcantara Recaro seats.

The car is available in Pure White or Sunrise Yellow. However, the photos show a blue version. All Subaru Impreza WRX STI spec B models come standard with the gold Brembo brake calipers. Previous rumors about a blacked-out rear spoiler are not true. The edition will be limited to 900 units. Pricing has not yet been announced.
