Subaru Solterra renders EV Style with STI Makeover

You can make the Solterra look great with a few simple changes.

The first Subaru electric vehicle is a little stodgy considering how similar it looks with the Toyota bZ4x. Although they look almost identical, Subaru does attempt to distinguish them. Subaru may go further and create a Solterra STI version. Although there is no evidence Subaru would do this, a rendering by X-Tomi Design gives us a better idea of what it might look like – it looks a lot like a Subaru. The thing that is interesting about this rendering is that it doesn’t show much of the Solterra standard that was revealed earlier in the week. The body’s color is now matched by the chunky plastic at the wheel wells. A new Subaru grille insert replaces its generic-looking counterpart. It’s also unique, with a bizarre hood scoop that isn’t necessary on an EV but adds to the crossovers sporty appearance.

The Solterra looks more performance-oriented with a contrast black roof and a lower ride height than the standard model. Also, the larger tires and black wheels make it more performance-oriented. With a small splitter attached to the front bumper, the black plastic cladding at the bottom of the doors is gone. The roof spoiler at back looks a little more aggressive. The Solterra is distinguished from the Toyota by a few minor modifications. Although the Toyota Solterra may not be designed in the same way, there are many options for them to look very different. Visual enhancements could be made possible by the aftermarket scene. The Solterra is the brand’s first electric vehicle. However, the company isn’t making bold statements about its electrified future. An all-electric STI version of a new Subaru model is possible in years.
