Dr. Evil keeps the Silverado Electric Vehicle and Cadillac InnerSpace concept in a secret Detroit lair.
Although it may not be the fourth sequel Austin Powers fan have been anticipating, General Motors has made a nostalgic 2022 Super Bowl commercial. With short teaser videos showing Dr. We now get a glimpse of the final product. Evil and his memorable criminal cohorts are here.
This teaser is a bit misleading. It opens in the same way as the Chevrolet real persons commercials. The people are standing around an Ultium chassis inside a conference room. The group was asked a simple question: How far can GM’s Ultium EVs charge on a single charge? After some realistic responses, who will speak up? You already know who he is and what he will say. One million miles? Well, at least he isn’t claiming to be Princess of Canada.
The Dr. Evil laughs with maniacal laughter as he presses the button to open the conference room walls to reveal his Detroit lair. How can we tell it’s in Detroit Motor City aficionados will recognize the Ally Detroit Center’s top between Scott Evil and Frau Farbissina. It is clearly visible through the window. This distinctive skyscraper can be found in the city’s downtown, near the Renaissance Center which is GM’s global headquarters. Instead of using a laser (sorry,… “laser”) to threaten world leaders, Dr. Global dominance will be achieved the old-fashioned, traditional way: through running a large company.
Clearly, the Big Game ad focuses on GM’s electrical ambitions. They are almost as powerful as Dr. Evil’s desire to control the world is clearly highlighted in the Big Game ad. The GMC Hummer EEV has already been produced. The Chevrolet Silverado EEV has already been revealed. All-electric Chevy Equinox and Blazer versions are also on the horizon.
Is there something else in this commercial? Stay tuned for more teasers before Super Bowl LVI begins on February 13.
