The Kia EV6 will also be making an appearance.
Kia hopes we will love our robot overlords. The teasers for the Super Bowl ad are a great start. The first video of the robot dog, which Kia announced last week was will be shown by the pair. The dog is adorable, but a little bit dystopian if it’s staring at you too long.
Bonnie Taylor’s Total Eclipse of the Heart is playing over the robot hisses of the dog as it notices something offscreen. The tweet teaser below shows that the all-electric Kia EV6 is revealed to be the culprit. Robo Dog’s eyes widen with excitement as Kia tells them to “Get ready for it”. We think Kia is referring to the EV6, however, the dog is very cute. It is also suspicious that the pup’s $299 price tag is next to it.
Kia is part of the Hyundai Motor Group, which bought Boston Dynamics, a robotics company, in late 2020. Although there is overlap between autonomous vehicles and robotics, HMG stated that it would like to develop humanoid robots. The company also teased at CES this year its vision of the future in which robots could assist humans in daily life. Kia, what are you trying to tell us?
This commercial coincides with Kia’s partnership with Petfinder Foundation charity, which helps shelter animals find loving homes. We asked the company for more information about the project before the Super Bowl. The ad will feature Robo Dog alongside the Hyundai EV6. It will be available in a variety of configurations, starting at $42,115 and including the $1,215 destination fee.
What does a Volkswagen diesel SUV that costs $70,000 after nearly half a century and 115,000 miles? The 2006 example is located overseas and the photos in the for sale ad at Autowereld.nl show it looking pretty good. We don’t have any details but Autoblog.nl suggests that it has had a lot of money invested in maintenance. A new engine was installed at 500,000 km. It would be easy to see why the engine looks so good. However, 500,000 km (310,000 miles) is an unusually low mileage for a diesel engine. It is hard to imagine how much that repair bill was.
This rare SUV’s asking price is EUR7,800. That is approximately $9,400. We found a few V10 TDI SUVs for sale in the States, with prices ranging between $12,000 and near $30,000, but none were as close to this model’s mileage.
We must respect the Volkswagen Touareg with the most mileage in the world, regardless of whether or not it is worth the price.
