Shelby’s bite can kill the TRX
The Ram TRX is the best factory-built pickup truck. It’s quick on the roads and off, thanks to its Hellcat V8 engine producing 702-horsepower (516 kilowatts) and squishy suspension. Tuners are the best way to find a worthy rival – on-road or not. Few people have the power and influence of a Shelby -badged.
This is the line-up for the new drag racing competition from Throttlehouse. A white Ram TRX stands tall and looks as intimidating as ever. The Ford F-150 Shelby converted to a Super Snake. This means that the supercharged 5.0-liter V8 produces 770 horsepower (566 kW). But, there are more mods. The F-150 has an upgraded suspension and brakes but they are not for off-road. This truck is street-ready to the core thanks to its body kit, low ride height and high-performance rubber band-spec tires.
The Shelby may be significantly lighter than the TRX. The Ram is lighter than the F-150 single-cab F-150, which has a short bed and slammed suspension. Shelby claims that the F-150 Super Snake can hit 60 mph in 3.4 seconds. This is significantly faster than the TRX. This drag race looks like a win for Ford, but don’t count your chickens yet. Launch control is a key feature of the TRX’s technology. We all know that power is useless if it can’t be used.
This contest is much closer to the truth than you might think. There are two races, one for digs and another for rolls. The dig race is at the very least a nail-biter.
