Suzuki Xbee is the Quirky, AWD Hybrid Crossover That You Can’t Have

It also features off-road systems such as hill descent control or snow driving mode.

Suzuki enticed us with a range of fashionable concepts for its Xbee subcompact crossover during the Tokyo Motor Show in September. The company now has the opportunity to make Japanese buyers jealous by revealing the production version this tiny off-roader.

Although the Xbee is identical to the previous concepts, Suzuki has now released actual information rather than releasing photos showing off the vehicle’s chunky styling. A one-liter turbocharged turbocharged engine, with mild hybrid assist, is the only powertrain available. It can be hooked up to a six speed automatic. Standard is front-wheel drive, but buyers have the option to choose an all-wheel-drive system.

The rugged appearance of the Xbee is not just for display. It also has the technology to support its off-road-ready look. To prevent wheels from spinning in slippery conditions, the snow mode increases the traction control. For driving in mud, a grip control setting adjusts throttle and brake response. There’s also hill descent control.

There are many options for customizing the exterior of the crossover. There are also two-tone options, such as a Rush Yellow body with a black roof. Optional LED headlights are also available.

The little crossover can hold five people inside. Even the front passenger seat can be folded down to maximize cargo space when not being used. You can conceal important items by placing them underneath the rear floor.

Although the Xbee appears to be a small crossover that can be used for everyday tasks, it is only available in Japan at this time. The base front-wheel-drive model costs 1,765,800 Japanese yen (15.592 at current exchange rates), while the top-trim, all wheel-drive version costs 2,145,960 Japanese yen ($18.927).
