You will see Indianapolis Motor Speedway in a new light.
Many tourist attractions across the country get into holiday mode every year when December rolls around. They put up as many Christmas lights and decorations as they can. Indianapolis Motor Speedway is the best place for car and racing enthusiasts. The Lights at the Brickyard is back for its third consecutive year. It’s more than a holiday decoration trip. Visitors will be able to drive their cars along the famous brick yard while enjoying a variety of light formations, including traditional Christmas trees, Santa Claus and IndyCar evolution.
Although the Brickyard isn’t lit, the entire track perimeter remains visible. Visitors will still find plenty to see during the 10-minute drive down. The oval’s Turn 4 and Turn 1 will be open to you, as well as Gasoline Alley and the yard of bricks. It is the largest sporting arena in the world and has over 3 million lights. The event is expected to continue shining brighter with over 500,00 new lights this year.
The Brickyard’s Lights at the Brickyard is the highlight. It features a stunning display of IndyCar evolution. Nine of the most popular race car are highlighted with bright LEDs. This event was first held in 1911. A heart-warming LED memorial to Mari Hulman George (ex-chairman of IMS) is also displayed in front of these race cars.
We were kindly provided with photos by IMS of various decorations, but we are unable to share all the details. It’s a magical sight to see a Christmas-lit race track at Indy.
