It features floating taillights and suicide doors.
We are often surprised by news from Tata Motors, Jaguar Land Rover’s parent company. Indian automaker Tata Motors unveiled the Avinya concept car to show off its electric ambitions. Its name, which is derived from Sanskrit and stands for innovation, seems fitting considering that the car will be a preview of new innovations later in the decade.
The Avinya concept is attractive and has very short overhangs. This is because it uses an electric car platform. It was designed to be an EV, not a platform for combustion engines like the Curvv concept. Tata Motors claims that the battery pack, which is still unnamed, can provide at least 310 miles (500 km) of range after being charged for 30 minutes.
Its form is more crossover than minivan and features suicide doors. It rides on large wheels that remind us of the Volkswagen ID.3. The overall design of Wolfsburg is reminiscent of VW’s luxury brand Audi, and its E-Tron production models and concepts.
The Tata logo is represented by the slim headlights. We can also say the same about the “floating taillights”. The Avinya has no need for traditional side mirrors and instead uses cameras. This is becoming increasingly common in countries, where they are legal. The Avinya’s nearly flat roofline allows for a spacious interior with the front passenger seat that swivels.
After pushing the wheels towards the vehicle’s ends, the wheelbase has been extended to provide ample legroom in the minimalist cabin. The Tata Avinya is a standout in an automotive world that has many screen-heavy vehicles. The interior is lounge-like and has a screen attached to the steering wheel. It looks futuristic, almost like a handheld gaming console.
The Avinya is a concept at the moment, but it will become a production model by 2025. It will be riding on Tata’s new GEN 3 architecture for bespoke EVs.
