Ratan Tata announced that the Nano will be arriving in the United States in 2015. The Nano will come with additional standard equipment, including a larger engine.
Ratan Tata, chairman of Tata Group, has announced that the nano will be available in the United States in 2015.
Tata spoke with Automotive News and stated that the Nano will be redesigned for Europe and the U.S. He also said it would have power steering, traction control and a larger engine. The model will still cost less than $10,000 (EUR7.715), despite the upgrades.
Although it is not clear if the changes will be sufficient to attract buyers from mature markets, Tata stated that “we hope that the sub$10,000 car has appeal.”
Although there is no information on the sale of the Nano, the CEO Jaguar Land Rover North America stated that they have not had any discussions about selling the model through their dealer network.
