According to the company, there is a patent pending for the design.
Electric vehicles could change the way we move in the future. Although the extent of this disruption is still unknown, there are many ideas that show bold visions of what the future might hold. Jeep believes a submersible, all-electric Wrangler can be made. However, a new catamaran design is a bold mover in the future of electric cars and water.
Cybercat and Cybercat Foiler are two versions of the concept. Both transform the yet to be revealed Tesla Cybertruck to a water-loving catamaran. However, one has hydrofoils for better efficiency in the water. All components of the conversion kit can be folded up for easy storage inside the truck.
According to the company, Cybercat will reach speeds of more than 25 mph (22 knots), and can travel 115 miles (100 nautical miles) at 6 mph (5 knots). The Cybercat Foiler can reach speeds of 40-plus miles (35-plus knots), with similar top-end range. Five outboard motors can provide thrust.
Although the concept may seem absurd, the company claims that there is a patent for the conversion and they are taking reservations. The company doesn’t require a deposit because they know that the Cybercat’s success is contingent on the arrival of the Cybertruck. Every company that makes aftermarket products for Tesla’s pickup truck will need to have a detailed understanding of the specifications. Tesla can be difficult to predict.
Since Tesla’s 2019 announcement of the Cybertruck, we have seen many products that try to make the pickup more versatile. As Tesla prepares the truck for production, many of these products are still in development. We won’t know the full potential of electric vehicles until someone actually tries them. We don’t even know what electric vehicles consumers will be most attracted to.
