The past two years have been volatile to put it mildly. Interbrand’s latest study offers some insight into that. It lists the top global brands based on their value for 2021. This is a comprehensive list and it’s no surprise that tech giants Apple and Amazon are on the top. We’ll be focusing on placements of automakers. Two make it to the top ten. They may not be the ones you expect.

According to the study, Toyota leads all auto manufacturers, landing seventh on the top 10 with a reported value $54.1 billion. This is five percent more than the previous year. Mercedes-Benz is the other brand in the top ten, coming in at eighth place with $50.8 billion. This is a mere three percent increase. BMW is next with $41.6 billion. This makes it number twelve on the list. Tesla is next at number 14, with a reported valuation of $36.2 billion.

Interbrand’s report on growth shows that Tesla is the most dominant brand. Tesla’s growth rate is a staggering 184 percent, according to Interbrand’s report covering the top 100 brands through 2021. Adobe and PayPal are tied for second place, but they are far below Tesla at 36%.

These figures can be interpreted in many ways. BrandZ also conducted a similar study and found that Tesla was the most valuable automaker, with a value $42.6 billion. The report also states that Tesla will see a 275 percent growth in 2021. Toyota comes in second at $26.9Billion, BrandZ says that is a five-percent loss.

The bottom line is that Tesla continues its financial success with extraordinary growth. It will be tested over time to see if it is sustainable.
