Tesla Model X Takes Out Another Supercar at The Drag Strip

Now it’s a matter of “by how much?” Instead of “which won?”

The Teslas will always be part of the conversation when discussing the fastest cars in the world. The Model S Plaid is a fascinating car, with its actual numbers and tests. While the Model X Plaid is a crossover, it has the same power output from three electric motors.

These Teslas have been beaten so much that they are now a household name. Supercars Drag strips such as this one, courtesy YouTube DragTimes . It’s the Tesla Model X Plaid which is a supposedly family EV cross-over, versus a Lamborghini Huracan Evo an Italian supercar.

This drag racing looks a bit odd at first glance. This Tesla sends 1,020 horsepower (761kilowatts), to the ground with matching instantaneous power. From its 5.2-liter V10, the Lamborghini produces 630 horsepower (463 kW).

Both can run on all four paws, but the weight difference somehow compensates for the power disadvantage. The Huracan Evo is significantly lighter than the Model X, which weighs 5,333 pounds (2,419 kilograms) and is considerably lighter. Their power-to-weight ratios are now very close to each other.

The Model X Plaid won both races. It completed the quarter-mile sprint in under 10 seconds. This was remarkable considering its battery, which is currently around 78 percent.

We usually don’t show the results of drag races, but we disagree on this one. The Model X Plaid completely destroyed the Huracanevo. Now the question is, “by how much?”

By the way DragTimes will show the next drag race between the Huracan Evo, and the Porsche 911 Turbo S. beat previously. It’s a more fair fight, right?
