This sedan looks like a battleship because of DS’s dazzle-pattern camouflage.
The DS brand is preparing a larger sedan to replace the current model. These spy shots give us a first glimpse at a test mule. Although the model’s name remains a mystery, it is likely to be DS 8. The moniker in Europe for the model is DS 8. A recent Auto Home story reveals that a Chinese test mule was spotted in China. It has a DS 9 badge.
Revealed as DS 9
These photos show the sedan’s presence. The vehicle’s size can be hidden by the camouflage. The grille at the front is large, while the corner LED headlights are quite small.
The profile of the DS 8 really shows its large size. The windows look a little small due to the large size of the body. The roofline is mostly flat and should allow for plenty of space for those sitting at the back.
Here are the details so far about the model:
The rear end features narrow LED taillights and a pair exhaust outlets that emerge from the cutouts at its bottom. These pipes look like placeholders, as they don’t fill all the holes.

According to reports, the DS 8 rides on the Peugeot Citroen’s EMP2 platform. It’s located underneath the Peugeot 508. The model would be positioned by the company as a premium vehicle, which would compete with products such as the Audi A6 or BMW 5 Series.
The DS 8 should arrive by 2020 and should be available in Europe as well as China. According to the AutoHome story, the Asian market’s powertrain is a plug in hybrid that includes a 1.6-liter turbocharged gasoline motor making 200 horsepower (149 kilowatts).
