Let’s make some changes.
In a series of spy photos, the next-generation Nissan Juke has been captured again. The Japanese manufacturer is testing this funky crossover with the model still available in certain markets on the Old Continent. Comparing the two allows us to see the differences and it is clear that the Juke will be more luxurious and slightly larger.
However, the overall shape of the fascia will not change. Although the fascia will still feature three rows of lights, the actual headlights and circular lights will be slimmer than ever. The taillights at the back will be completely redesigned, extending onto the tailgate so that the small crossover appears wider from the side.
We know exactly what powertrains are in store for the Juke, as we have the Renault Clioand Captur. CMF-B will make the Juke lighter and offer a choice of 1.0- or 1.3-liter gasoline engines. There should also be a 1.5-liter dCi diesel. However, some sources claim that the turbo-gas unit could be as powerful as 200 horsepower (149 kW), but this is not confirmed.
The new Captur will get a plug-in hybrid engine next year. We expect the same hybrid system being adapted to the next-gen Juke. Although we have not yet seen the prototypes with a charging port, it is sensible for Nissan that they borrow the system from their French counterparts as the European market has become increasingly interested in plugging-in models.
We anticipate that the Juke will be redesigned before the end of the year, with sales starting in 2020.
