The 1995 Buick Riviera is Renovated as A Modern Luxury Car

Is it possible to make the Riviera of the 90s look pretty?

The Buick Riviera began life as a beautiful luxury coupe in 1960. However, by 1995, the Riviera’s sleek muscular lines had given way to a sleek and curvy coupe that was discontinued in 1999. Although the Riviera was an important vehicle for Buick, its final 8th generation design failed to sell well and it was eventually scrapped. We are left to wonder if it is possible to save the final Buick Riviera design.

TheSketchMonkey is eager to start creating Riviera’s 8th generation. His photoshop skills can transform the boring Buick into a beautiful coupe like the original.

The new Buick Riviera personal luxury coupe was highly praised by the automotive media when it debuted in 1963. The Riviera was the first time that General Motors had used a custom-built body shell. The Riviera was lighter than the other Buicks, and had stiffer springs. This made it more sporty to drive than modern American cars. Buick reduced production to 40,000 units in 1963 to meet demand and give exclusivity to the new coupe.

The exclusive Riviera gradually lost its appeal over time. The Riviera became a common name that could be slapped on a coupe across all GM brands. Buick realized that the Riviera was no longer a viable option due to declining coupe sales during the 1990s.

This video was TheSketchMonkey’s most difficult task. It took a lot of planning and focus to transform the Riviera body into something you would want to buy. We will not see a new Buick Riviera, despite the fact that coupe sales are declining. However, I would be happy to buy it if it looked so good.
