Subaru Australia has launched the Off-road inspired Outback.

The Australian Outback looks far more aggressive that the American or European variants. This is due to the plastic body cladding and underbody protection, as well as roof rails. This makeover includes tinted headlights as well as mud flaps, dark grey alloy wheels, and a dark gray grille. The 2014 Subaru Outback gets an Australian off-road inspired exterior

Nick Senior, Subaru Australia’s Managing Director, stated that “We have received a lot customer feedback suggesting that owners would prefer a tougher-looking Outback with more body protection. This is particularly useful for rural roads, where this wagon ranks highly.” He said, “These MY14 upgrades deliver both on both fronts. They will help keep Outback’s reputation as one of Australia’s most versatile and capable wagons.”

Subaru claims that styling upgrades add $2500 of “additional worth”, but the price has increased by only $500. The Outback 2.5i CVT has a base price now of $38,990 AUD.
