The Skoda Roomster 2nd generation has been completed ahead of an expected official unveiling before the end. You may have seen in our latest batch of spy photos that VAG decided to go cheap with the second-gen Roomster. It will now be a rebadged Volkswagen Caddy. It will be very similar to its older sibling but with Skoda’s corporate grille, and a different set headlights, as shown in the attached render.
The engine department won’t surprise as they will be transferred from the Caddy. Expect to see a three-cylinder 1.0 TSI rated 102 PS (75 kW) and a 1.2-liter TSI rated 84 PS (62.2 kW). A punchier 1.4 TSI will produce 125 PS (92 kW), while a quartet TDIs with outputs ranging from 75 PS (55 kW), to 150 PS (1110 kW) are expected to be found on the diesel side. Skoda will likely unveil the second-gen Roomster at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September. At this time, it’s unknown if there will be a successor to the Praktik panel van version.
