The price of an Alfa Romeo Giulia can increase by more than twofold, from a base model to a fully loaded one.
You probably saw Alfa Romeo’s trio ads for its Giulia sports sedan while you were watching the Super Bowl. The configurator by the Italian brand allows people to build their own model online. Prices vary widely. A Giulia starts at $38,990. However, the most expensive Quadrifoglio includes every option and costs $87,670.
The Quadrifoglio, the top-of-the-line Giulia sedan, competes with European sport sedans such as the BMW M3 or Mercedes AMG C63. The Alfa is powered by a 505-horsepower (377 kilowatts) 2.9-liter biturbo-V6. It can sprint to 60 MPH in 3.8 seconds. It also laps the Nurburgring Nordschleife at 7:32. The only gearbox available is an eight-speed automatic.
The color the buyer chooses is what adds money to the Quadrifoglio’s $73,595 starting price. All seven colors are available but one. The majority of the shades are priced at $600. However, you can get the Rosso Competizione Tri-Coat or Trofeo White Tri-Coat at $2,200. Customers can also choose from 19-inch stock wheels or three different designs for $500. These include a black version or a bright or darkened phone dial look. Carbon-ceramic brakes by Brembo are available for $5,500, making them the most expensive option.
Inside, customers can choose carbon fiber Sparco chairs for $2,750. They are available in a variety of colors, including green, white, red, or dark grey stitching. For $400, customers can dress up their cabin with a carbon-fiber steering wheel. For an additional $900, drivers can enjoy Harman Kardon’s 14-speaker sound system.
Quadrifoglio customers will likely spend more time driving than on the Nordschleife. The $1,500 Driver Assistance Dynamic package should make it easier to commute. The package includes adaptive cruise control, auto high beams and forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection. It also has autonomous braking and an infrared windshield.
Customers can also keep their sedan clean with a $325 carcover.
Although $87,670 is not cheap, it’s still a good price compared to other competitors in this segment. A BMW M3 fully loaded costs just over $90,000. While a Mercedes-Benz C63S sedan with all options goes for more than $100,000, a Mercedes-Benz C63S sedan with all options is priced at over $100,000. It is also a sporty four-door that stands up against its competitors. He described the Alfa rear-drive four door as “less punishing than an M3, more alive than an C63, prettier than an -V and gutsier than an Lexus RCF.”
