The Renegade features a new look, multiple engine options and off-road chops.
The Renegade is Jeep’s smallest SUV. It has a new look. The small SUV has received a facelift for 2019, with minor tweaks to the front fascia. This is a more aggressive style. We now know all details about the new look, including the facelift.
There will be a variety of engine options. A 1.0-liter gasoline option, which produces 120 horsepower (89 kilowatts), will be offered. An even larger 1.3-liter gas option will be available. It produces either 150 or 180 horsepower (111 or 134.2 kW), depending on the trim. A 1.6-liter engine with 120 horsepower or a 2.0-liter unit producing 140 or 170 horsepower (104 or 126.2 kW) are also available. Buyers can choose between a six-speed manual, seven-speed dual-clutch or nine-speed automatic depending on the trim.
All Renegade trims will get the new look. It features more modern headlights and a lower fascia. Trapezoidal wheel arches are also standard. This particular model, which is a fully loaded 2019 Trailhawk Trim, has the same hood stripe and Trail-Rated badges as the previous version. It also features unique wheels.
Safety gets an upgrade. New features are added to the Renegade’s range, including speed assist and lane departure warning, standard traffic sign recognition, forward collision warning, and automatic emergency braking for the Limited trim. Selec-Terrain Traction Control, Hill Start Assist, and Hill Destruction Control features will increase the Renegade’s off-road capabilities.
The 2019 Jeep Renegade will be on sale September 1st. It will come in four trim levels: Sport (Longitude), Limited (Limited), and Trailhawk. The new Renegade will mark the debut of a Jeep product made in Italy at FCA’s Melfi SATA Plant.
