The 2020 Skoda Superb Scout is Unveiled as an Alternative to the SUV

It is higher than the regular wagon, and it comes standard with AWD.

Skoda’s flagship model will be following the Superb Outdoor from the previous generation. The first ever Superb Scout is for those who aren’t a fan of SUVs but still want the off-road capabilities of the Kodiaq. The standard Superb Combi gets several upgrades, including all-wheel drive.

Apart from the plastic body cladding, you will also find the closely related Volkswagen Passat Alltrack The Superb Scout’s suspension has been reworked to increase ground clearance by 15 millimeters (0.6 inch). Skoda The technology has been improved to include an off-road mode that can be used when conditions are difficult. Additionally, the underbody protection for engine and undercarriage will come in handy for dealing with bumpy terrain.

The new Scout comes with bespoke 18-inch wheels, as well as optional 19-inch wheels. These have a standard two tone finish and are optionally available for smaller sets. A Scout-exclusive paint scheme in vibrant Tangerine Orange is available, along with several customization options.

The interior is Superb Combi-style, with minor modifications such as the wood-effect decorate strips that depict the Scout logo and a special fabric seat upholstery with contrast stitching. Buyers can order leather or Alcantara seats with brown stitching for an additional charge.

It’s not just a Superb wagon. The dedicated off-road screens within the infotainment system provide the driver with all relevant information when driving on rough roads.

The new Superb Scout joins the three Scout models based upon the Octavia and Karoq. It will only be available with top-tier engines such as the 2.0 TSI or the 2.0 TDI. The first engine produces 272 horsepower (258 kilowatts) while the second produces 190 HP (140 kW) as well as 400 Nm (295lb-ft). Both engines are connected to a seven speed DSG.

Skoda Superb Scout, along with regular revisions of its flagship model, will be available for purchase later in the year. The plug-in hybrid Superb IV will be available in 2020.
