Chevrolet unveiled the 2022 Silverado ZR2 last year. Chevrolet has plans to go one step further with the 2022 Silverado ZR2. Chevrolet dropped a teaser trailer for its 2023 Silverado ZR2 Bison pickup, which will feature even more rugged upgrades.

Although the teaser isn’t very clear, Chevrolet has partnered again with American Expedition Vehicles. They worked together on the Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 Bison, which was launched in 2019. The Silverado ZR2 Bison will receive many of the same upgrades that its Colorado sibling.

Although the teaser does show some of the goodies, they are obscured by shadows making it difficult to see. AEV will likely add significant underbody protection to the Colorado. It also removed five Boron-steel skid plates. Other upgrades to the Colorado included a new front bumper and winch, as well as a rear bumper with tow hooks and a 2.0-inch suspension lift.

The Silverado ZR2 comes with a lot more off-road goodies like a lifted suspension and 40-millimeter Multimatic DSSV spool valve dampers. Chevrolet also updated the truck’s bumpers to improve its approach angle to 31.8 degrees. The Silverado ZR2 has 420 horsepower (313 Kilowatts) and 460 pounds-feet (624 Newton meters) of torque. We expect the same from ZR2 Bison.

Teaser video shows extra underbody protection, an upgraded differential and a revised bumper. The video features a pair fog lights that are different from the ZR2’s. However, it is unclear what the new bumper will look like.

We don’t need to wait too long, thankfully. We expect the 2023 Chevrolet ZR2 Bison to debut sometime in the summer and go on sale by the end of this year. Chevrolet will have another rugged pickup to compete with the Ford F-150 Raptor. With its TRX, which produces 702-hp (523 kW), Ram is in a different league.
