The Bonkers Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR Pro Hits the Track In Bahrain

Deliveries have already begun.

Aston Martin began quietly delivering the Valkyrie’s owners in November. Although the hypercar is a bold design with insane power figures, it was not Aston’s final goal. This car is the Valkyrie AMR Pro, which Aston introduced last July and has just been seen on the Bahrain race track. Aston already delivers the Pro.

Aston drove the Valkyrie AMR Pro on the track in advance of the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix. He completed two runs before Saturday’s Qualifying session, and one before Sunday’s race.

Dirk Muller was the development driver behind this car’s Bahrain spins. He said that it is “closer to an F1 car than any other car I have driven in terms of performance.” Everything is perfect: the power, handling, grip, and everything else.

Aston first revealed the Valkyrie AMR Pro to the public in 2018. However, Aston modified certain aspects of the vehicle over time and introduced the track-only AMR Pro production version in July last year. The hybrid powertrain was dropped and the car used a naturally-aspirated 6.5-liter V12 engine built by Cosworth. Although it doesn’t produce the 1,100 horsepower (820 kilowatts), the hybrid engine promised, the engine still produces 1,000 hp (745kW).

Aston combined the car’s incredible power with a carbon-fiber body and carbon suspension wishbones. Perspex side and windscreen windows were also used to reduce weight. Aston also extended the car and widen the front and rear tracks. However, the most significant upgrade to the car was aerodynamics which allowed Aston to achieve twice the downforce.

Aston will produce 40 copies of the Valkyrie AMR Pro. All Valkyrie owners will be able to experience a track experience once Aston has completed deliveries. This program will allow owners to visit famous tracks like Yas Marina and Silverstone, Nurburgring and Circuit of the Americas. According to the company, “Legendary F1 drivers and endurance racing professionals” will be available for trackside support.
