The Chevy Corvette Mid-Engined Rear End Design Could Be Leaked

This is a major leak.

We expect to see more of the mid-engined Chevrolet Corvette between now and July 18’s highly anticipated debut. This is thanks to the usual trio of rumors, leaks and spy shots. A new image on social media shows what is believed to be the C8’s rear end. The photo is of low resolution but it does seem to be legitimate considering what the prototypes have shown over the past few months.

Official Corvette C8 is Now Available

Below is a rendering that was based on recent sightings and comparisons of disguised test cars. The key word is “Evolution”, as the new Corvette’s back will not be a departure from the front-engined C7. The quad exhausts that flank the diffuser and the large vents under the taillights make it look much more aggressive than the model they are replacing.

The C8’s rear spoiler is full-width and adds drama. It appears identical to the one we have seen multiple times on camouflaged prototypes. It is believed that the car’s color is “Elkhart Lake Blue” and not “Rapid Blue.” The image was allegedly taken at the Bowling Green plant.

The bulging quarter panel can also be seen, along with the quarter and side windows. However, the former seems a little off. The car’s side looks slightly disproportioned in its upper half due to the poor camera angle, giving the impression of a low roofline.

This is probably the least flattering image of the C8. It was likely taken with the first smartphone to have a camera. We think it will look better in official photos, but most importantly in real life.
