It took eight years to build, and it was finally drivable in November 2021.
Reddit user Scifieartist909 uploaded a few photos of his amazing overhauled Chevrolet Corvette C4 to the Cyberpunk subreddit. This is the sci-fi genre and not the videogame. We had to contact Scifieartist909 to learn more about the ‘Vette. Darius, the builder started customizing the 1989 Corvette when he turned 20. The car is a work of art and craftsmanship that he has completed in his shed and garage. Darius studied car design at college before moving on to video game concept art. These skills proved to be very useful when creating his cyberpunk Corvette. To create this wild-looking ‘Vette, he took the C4 model out of video games.
The Alfa Romeo Bat 9 is heavily influenced by the rear. Motor1.com’s Darius explained that the front is heavily inspired by the Ferrari Sergio and the Aston Martin Vulcan. Darius also took inspiration from the Quadra brand vehicles from Cyberpunk 2077. Darius initially tried to build the body from marine foam but it proved too difficult. After trying other materials, he decided on Alumalight panels which are aluminum sheets wrapped around a core of corrugated plastic. Later, he learned how to shape carbon fiber and used it as the vehicle’s rear. The cyberpunk Corvette became driveable in November 2020. Darius has driven the car about 400 miles since he was able to take the wheel. Motor1.com reported that five people stopped him during his recent trip to AutoZone to discuss the creation. People have been telling him about how the car looks like the new Batmobile in his upcoming movie. The original 350-cubic inch (5.7-liter), V8 engine is still used in the Corvette. Darius has plans for future upgrades. Darius would like to add either a rear-mounted turbocharger, or a supercharger. He hopes to eventually convert the car to an electric drivetrain.
