It will be delivered with a 50/50 front-rear weight imbalance.
Toyota is expanding its Supra line-up in Europe with the addition of the turbocharged 2.0 liter engine. The turbocharged 2.0-liter Supra will join it. Toyota has been open about the fact that the Supra’s less powerful version will allow the car to reach a wider customer base, as it should be more affordable. It’s still fun to drive, even though it is less powerful. There are many advantages to a smaller mill.
The engine’s power is compensated for by its handling. The engine’s smaller size reduces the overall car’s weight by 220 pounds (100 kg) compared to the 3.0-liter Supra. Because the mill is smaller, it is located closer to the car’s center. This helps the 2.0-liter Supra maintain a 50/50 front-rear weight ratio.
Supra’s entry-level Supra comes with 18-inch alloy wheels and a four-speaker audio system that displays 8.8 inches on the display. It also includes black Alcantara sports chairs. Standard safety equipment includes pedestrian/cyclist detection with braking, lane-keep assistance with active steering, intelligent speeds assist, and road sign aid.
Three optional packages are also available: Connect, Sport, or Premium. Connect Package includes connectivity and navigation links to a variety of services. The Sport Pack adds performance-oriented bits like upgraded brakes that are “sports-quality”, an adaptive variable suspension and an active differential.
The Premium Package upgrade the stereo to a 12-speaker JBL Premium sound system. It also includes a head-up display and a wireless charger. The Connect Package is also included. It adds new lighting and storage.
The Fuji Speedway edition will also be available. This exclusive offering will include white metallic paint, matte black 19-inch alloy wheels and red door mirror housings. The dash has carbon-fiber trim inserts, red and black Alcantara upholstery. As an option, the Fuji Speedway edition will include the Connect and Sport packages.
The new, less powerful Supra should lower the price so that more people can buy the sports car. The Supra was introduced in Europe by Toyota last year. It restricted production to 900 units. Toyota will limit the production of the fuji Speedway edition Supras to 200 units. However, the standard 2.0-liter Supras will not be subject to similar production limitations. Pricing information will be available closer to the model’s scheduled on-sale date of March.
