It is the only truck that was used in the film 2011.
In the past, we’ve featured movie car models – for example, the Lucra LC470 of Fast & Furious 6. The 1960 International Harvester Sightliner, however, is far from an open-top sports car. It was featured in the movie Real Steel and is currently for sale on eBay at a price of $27,877.
The truck was extensively modified and now has a modern turbodiesel six cylinder engine under its hood. Modern brakes were installed and suspension components were added to the truck, as there weren’t any backup trucks. This would ensure that the Sightliner was always in good working order.
A few new features were also added to the cabin, including switches that can be used for both functional and non-functional purposes, as well as a knob at the center console that controls hydraulic lift ramp. For aesthetic purposes, two additional windshields were placed at the feet and included their own set of wipers.
The coolest features are found in the back. The film still includes the bed, overhead storage and the work bench. This is exactly how Hugh Jackman used it to transport his fighting robot.
According to reports, the entire project cost close to $250,000. This unique piece of film memorabilia won’t likely cost you nearly as much, which is a good thing.
