Kia introduces a GT Line to the cee’d range that comes with several enhancements.

The GT Line will make its debut in Geneva next month. It will be placed between the GT model and the GT-exclusive GT version. This latest addition to the cee’d range is for those who love the GT model’s styling but don’t want to spend the extra premium on the 204 HP turbocharged gasoline engine.

The cee-d GT Line, available in hatchback, coupe, and wagon, will instead get the regular cee-d engines, including a new three-cylinder turbo 1.0-liter turbo that produces 120 HP (88kW) and 172Nm (127lb-ft). Kia has also updated the 1.6-liter CRDi Diesel diesel to make this GT Line trim more powerful. It now produces 128 HP (94kW) and 265Nm (195lbft), while the GT Line trim will produce 133 HP (98kW) as well as 285 Nm (285 lbft) of torque.

The Kia cee’d GT Line comes with a seven speed dual clutch gearbox. This gearbox was first seen on the facelifted Hyundai i30. It will only be available with the 133 HP diesel. The new gearbox, which was also developed at the company’s Namyang R&D center in South Korea, promises faster gear changes and lower fuel consumption. Comfort and smoothness are improved in automatic mode.

The cee’d GT Line has 17-inch alloy wheels. It also features ice cube LED daytime run lights, beefier front and rear bumpers, dual exhaust setups, GT side sill moldings, and LED taillights. Although images of the cabin aren’t available, Kia says there is new grey, white and black upholstery, GT Line logos and GT-sourced leather steering wheels, piano black accents, and aluminum pedals. A new chrome trim is used around the air vents, power window switches and illumination for USB & AU ports. There’s also a new aluminum stop/start button.

Kia has announced that the cee’d GT Line will be available at dealerships by the fourth quarter.
