Kerbeck Chevrolet in New Jersey may have an idea about the arrival of the C8.
Officially Revealed Corvette C8:
We have captured mid-engined Corvette prototypes over a dozen times to date, both in photos and on film. Chevrolet has yet to announce the coupe’s debut. We hope it will be sometime in this year. One major dealer has opened the pre-order books and is accepting deposits for the Corvette.
According to CorvetteBlogger.com, Kerbeck Chevrolet, a New Jersey-based dealer, is now taking deposits for the C8 Corvette. Kerbeck isn’t the first Chevy dealer that opens up pre-orders of the C8. This is a common practice for most dealers. Some even offer deposits years ahead of time for cars that might not yet exist. According to sources, Kerbeck usually opens pre-orders only weeks before the vehicle’s debut. The new C8 debut could come sooner than anticipated.
The dealer will ask for a $1,000 deposit via phone or via special HTML8 landing page. Once the information is available from Chevy, he promises to send details about price, color and other options to customers. The $1,000 deposit will be applied towards five percent of final purchase price.
This is not groundbreaking news. We’ve seen five new videos of HTML8s testing and more that 40 spy photos from a near-production mule, all within a matter of weeks. We are hoping for a C8 debut soon.
We know that the C8 launch originally planned for the New York Auto Show won’t take place until later in the year. Electric issues caused prototypes to be delayed, but an event in its own right this summer is still possible. Expect multiple engine options, possibly even a plug in hybrid trim later on.
