The 720S features different turbos as well as an aftermarket exhaust that does not require catalytic converters. Sticky tires can help reduce the engine’s power. Mostrotoys takes the McLaren to the drag strip with these minor modifications.
The 720S does not immediately drop to the eight-second range. The driver must have the perfect launch and tire pressures. This video shows the effort. It shows how the car starts in the 9-second range and gradually decreases its time. McLaren finishes the quarter-mile in 8.993 seconds, while traveling 159.55 mph (256.8 km/h).

, the 720S in Drag Times videos is stock. It spends a lot of time at drag strip. It is usually in the 10-second range, with occasional dips into the 9-second range. The car generally travels between 135 mph to 140 mph (217 km/h to 225 Kph).
This means that Mostrotoys’ McLaren has been shortened by around a second. It is also going approximately 20 mph (32 km/h) faster than the 720S straight from the showroom floor.
