Did you know? Mercedes-Benz now has an all-new A-Class. The hatchback gets a fresh new look to match the rest of the lineup. It also features a new MBUX infotainment system that brings it closer to the modern age, even more than its siblings. The only problem with the new Benz is that we will not be able to get the hatchback model in the U.S.

Buyers outside the United States will only be able to purchase the five-door A Class, while Americans will have limited access to the four-door model. The Benz will also be available in a five door configuration for Canadians. Brian D. Fulton is the President and CEO at Mercedes-Benz Canada.

Fulton stated that U.S. counterparts have confirmed that the A-Class sedan will be sold only. Both the hatchback and sedan versions of the A-Class will be sold in Canada. We will provide more information later in the year about this sedan.

The new A-Class will be available with a 1.4-liter turbocharged gasoline engine that produces 161 horsepower (120kilowatts) 184 poundfeet (249 Newton meters) of torque. It is paired with either a seven speed dual-clutch transmission or a six-speed manual. The 2.0-liter turbocharged four cylinder, which produces 221 horsepower (165 kW) as well as 258 lbft (350 Nm), will also be available.

The diesel engine is a 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbodiesel. It produces 114 horsepower (85 kW) as well as 192 lb-ft (226 Nm) of torque. Buyers can also opt for the 4Matic all-wheel-drive system.

The 2019 Mercedes-Benz A-Class will be arriving in North America later this year. The pricing of the 2019 Mercedes-Benz A-Class is still unknown, but it will likely be less expensive than the CLA which starts at $32,700.
