Here’s a look at how much that money will buy you.
Cadillac has recently updated its online configurator with full options and equipment for CT4-V. Pricing was also added. The CT5_V sports sedan was already examined in depth. Its almost $70,000 price tag wasn’t very popular with Motor1.com users. We now need to examine the CT4-V in detail to determine if they are worth the extra money.
As always, the journey starts with a base car. The base CT4-V starts at $45,490, plus a $995 destination fee. All-wheel-drive brings our starting price to $46,590. The exterior makeover is completed with a layer Red Obsession Tintcoat at $1,225 and polished 19-inch wheels at $2,350. Curiously, these prices are exactly the same as the CT5V, which is slightly larger overall and comes with 20 inch wheels.
We are once more confronted by the frustration of Cadillac’s online configurator as we move inside. The Sangria interior color option is $1,000, but the Climate Package must be added to add $1,600. This includes ventilated front seats with massaging lumbar and ventilated front chairs. The MSRP goes up by $3,050 when you add the Driver Assist package (which is listed at $1,100). This is because all buyers must purchase the Technology Package as well as the Driver Awareness Plus Package.
These packages include a host of safety and driver-assist systems such as blind-spot monitoring and adaptive cruise control. These items are offered by many automakers, such as Honda, but they cost more in Cadillac’s world. The packages include a heads-up display and IntelliBeam lights, but navigation and high-end Bose stereo will cost you an additional $800.
A Front Lighting and Assist Package, which includes cornering lamps and LED turn signals, and front parking assist, is available for $400 more. It is not clear why these driver-assist options are separated from the actual Driving Assist Package. However, there are only a few additional options. The cost of a power sunroof is $1,050. Red brake calipers are $595.
Cadillac sells a factory-installed engine blocks heater for $100, which is perhaps the most unusual case of unwanted equipment with optional additional features we have ever seen. However, the cost of checking it adds $115. The heater comes with a front plate bracket. We have no idea why. You can order the license plate frame separately. But what does a license bracket have to do?
Additional mechanical options and a variety of interior organization accessories bring us to $58,725. It is similar to the CT5V and has 320 horsepower (239kilowatts). It’s priced and powered to be comparable to the Mercedes AMG CLA 35. The Audi S3 offers slightly more power for the same price. The CT4-V will soon be available at dealers.
