The new Range Rover Sport is available, as well as a Twin-turbocharged, 4.4-liter V8 from BMW. The SUV has 523 horsepower (390kilowatts) and can handle all four wheels. It also achieves a 0-60 mph speed of 4.3 seconds. The 2023 Land Rover Range Rover Sport First Edition is priced at $122,850.
Land Rover claims that the First Edition comes with almost every feature available as standard equipment. The Range Rover Sport First Edition is not like that, as we discovered quickly in the online configurator. Our most expensive total reached $141,190 after we added $18,340 in options. This includes the mandatory $1,350 destination fee.
What do you get for the extra 18 grand? An exterior blackout package costs $750 and eliminates most of the chrome. Black wheels will add $350 to the cost. You will need to add $560 to get a full-size spare tire. Tow Assist costs $450 if you wish to tow your SUV. The Land Rover also lists the receiver hitch setup for $750.
Black veneer trim can be installed inside for $410. The cabin air purifier system costs $540 and mobile Wi-Fi with a data plan is $360. You can also purchase packages like the Cold Climate group, which adds items such as a heated windshield for $640. For $470, the Convenience Pack gives you luxury items like a gesture-powered tailgate. Rubber floor mats, cargo carriers and other accessories are included in the $650 interior protection/storage pack. There are several other features that could add an additional $1,000 to your bill.
If you are good at math, then you will see that $18,340 is still a long way away. The biggest add-ons are the last and there are only three choices. The rear-seat entertainment system is $3,150 and comes with two 11.4-inch screens that allow second-row passengers to view the content. Side steps that can be deployed are available at a cost of $4,200. The most expensive item, the Meridan Signature Sound system with 29 speakers and 1,430 Watts of power, costs $4,500.
We did a most expensive test on the Range Rover Sport Autobiography, as the First Edition model will not be available until 2023. The V8 starts at $105,550. You can trade it for a plug in hybrid powertrain that includes a turbocharged 3.0-liter Inline-six engine, which produces 434 horsepower (324 kW). You’ll be paying $133,420 after all the options have been checked.
Order banks for the 2023 Range Rover Sport are now open. The models should be available later in the year.
