The styling changes are obvious even though camouflage isn’t used.

New spy photos have revealed the Ford Escape’s updated design. The redesign of the Ford Escape crossover was first seen late last year. However, Ford covered the styling changes with a camouflage cover that is now gone. We are able to see the changes in the styling at the front.

The lack of camouflage indicates that the Escape will have a light bar across its front that connects the crossover’s redesigned headlights. This is similar to the element on F-150 Lightning. Ford has redesigned the trapezoidal grille, which will be placed on the crossover’s new face. The new grille sits just below the new hood and sits higher than it did before.

Ford had to move the Blue Oval from the grille because of the new styling. New photos show the crossover with new fog light surrounds as well as a new lower bumper grille. The rear changes are subtler but the Escape will be equipped with a revamped taillight interior.

Although we haven’t yet seen the Escape, we expect no major changes to this mid-cycle refresh. We doubt Ford will make significant interior changes to the Escape, which was completely new for the 2020 model year. Ford may expand its technology to include the BlueCruise driver assistance system.

The new Escape features a Lightning-like light element but we don’t anticipate the crossover to come with a battery electric powertrain. We expect that the current range of engines will continue to be used. The new Escape will offer a gasoline, hybrid, or plug-in hybrid engine.

Although we don’t know the exact date Ford will unveil the new Escape, we believe it will be before the end of the year. Ford’s new Escape will be revealed by spy photographers before September ends. Production for the 2023 model should begin sometime in November. The Escape shares its foundations with the new Bronco Sport. A redesign will be able to distinguish the soft crossover from its enthusiast-focused sibling.
